Evening Grosbeaks Galore!

I birded Liberty and Neversink Townships again today hoping for something new and wanting to add some birds for the last period of the month/year.  Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to find any Common Redpolls today.  All the common feeder birds were easily found as were 7 Common Ravens, Several Bald Eagles and a few Red-tailed Hawks.  The show stopper of the day though was the EVENING GROSBEAK show!  I had 57 (above) at Sue Rayano’s feeders, 16 at a private feeder on Cooley Road and 40 at the Marsden’s on Woodard Road!  That’s 113 Evening Grosbeak and perhaps my largest single day count ever!  Below is a shot of them flushing and flying around the yard. (that’s Sue’s flag)
