Great Morning at the Bashakill

Headed right to the Bashakill this morning hoping for some nice new arrivals.  It was a really good morning.  I had a wave of warblers in three locations.  Pine Boat Launch Cabin, Haven Road DEC Parking Lot and The Orchard.  Blackpoll, Black-throated Green, Black and White, Magnolia, Bay-breasted, Pine and Palm Warblers were all seen.  Also seen were American Redstart and Common Yellowthroat for a total of nine warbler species.  The Deli Fields was the most active spot of the day.  Brown Thrasher, Eastern Bluebird, Eastern Phoebe, Chipping, Song, Savannah, LINCOLN’S, White-throated and Swamp Sparrows were all seen.  Other birds included House Wren, Scarlet Tanager, Cooper’s, Red-tailed and Red-shouldered Hawks.  The usual woodpeckers, titmice, chickadees and nuthatches were all seen as well.  A very productive morning with 56 species seen. Oddly enough, after a good thrush day yesterday, I had none today.
