Friday afternoon.

Always one of my favorites, a beautiful Gray-cheeked Thrush in my side yard!

I went back out this afternoon to see what else I might see at the Bashakill.   I immediately ran into a nice flight of birds at the Orchard again.  These birds were probably the same birds I saw this morning, but as would be expected the numbers and species were not quite the same.  I had at least six Blackpoll Warblers in one tree.  Black-throated Green, Northern Parula, Magnolias, American Redstart, Scarlet Tanager, Rose-breasted Grosbeak and many White-throated Sparrows were seen.  When I returned home, I was again inputting data when I noticed a thrush in my side yard.  I went out to see what it was.  A nice Swainson’s Thrush! As I moved in to get a photo of the bird, a second thrush flew up.  This bird was a beautiful GRAY-CHEEKED THRUSH! My first of the fall season!  This ended up being a great day, one I really enjoyed!
