A busy couple of days at the Bashakill

Tuesday and Wednesday were quite busy at the Bashakill. I had a total of 9 species of sparrow (including Towhee) and 8 species of Warblers.  The warbler highlight was a beautiful NASHVILLE WARBLER at the Deli Fields.  Common Yellowthroat, Black-throated Blues and Greens, Palm, Black and White, Magnolia and Yellow-rumps were all seen.   Of the sparrows, Lincoln’s and Savannah were the highlights.  A couple of Pied-billed Grebe have been at the bridge on Haven Road and Great Blue Herons are numerous.  Bald Eagles have really built up over the last several days with as many as 8 being seen, including 5 juveniles. Blue-headed Vireo has also been numerous.
