Bashakill Waterfowl

A nice assortment of ducks on Haven Road this morning included a pair each of Northern Shoveler, Ring-necked Duck and American Wigeon.


Waterfowl continues to be the main attraction at the Bashakill this week. A nice assortment of ducks, mergansers and others have been present daily. Here is a list of what you can see as of today, April first (no fool’n!)

Canada Geese
Wood Duck
Gadwall
American Wigeon
American Black Duck
Mallard
Northern Shoveler
Northern Pintail
Green-winged Teal
Ring-necked Duck
Lesser Scaup
Bufflehead
Hooded Merganser
Common Merganser
Pied-billed Grebe
Hopefully, with decent weather forecasted for the next two days, we’ll get some more new arrivals!

Just a short distance from the other birds were this pair of Lesser Scaup.
