Finally some serious migration!

One of a dozen skeins of Snow Geese flies over the Sullivan County Community College this morning.

Today, once the winds changed to the southwest, migration really picked up. This is a late date for many species that we normally have long before now. The highlight of today for me was the mass migration of SNOW GEESE! Other birds were coming through in good numbers too. Great Blue Herons were flying in small groups and American Crows were coming through in the hundreds. Tomorrow is my Bashakill Early Spring Waterfowl Walk and hopefully more birds will come through for the walk.

Seven Great Blue Herons work their way north along the ridge above the Bashakill this afternoon.
