While sparrow numbers were by no means great today, there was an increase over the last few days. I only managed Song (12), Fox (6), White-throated (30), White-crowned (1) and VESPER (1) and of course and abundance of Dark-eyed Juncos. Though it wasn’t a wind fall, it was nice seeing several of these nice birds. Ducks weren’t as plentiful today. Mallard (40), Wood Duck (5), Green-winged Teal (80), Pied-billed Grebe (2 ok, not really a duck). Hermit Thrush seemed to be everywhere with 7 seen. There were few Robins and a surprise late CATBIRD. Bald Eagles, Red-tailed Hawk, Sharp-shinned and Cooper’s Hawk were all seen. About a dozen Rusty Blackbirds continue. Good day of birding the Bashakill.
This juvenile White-crowned Sparrow was at the Deli Fields. I have yet to see a single adult WCSP in the county this fall.

There were a couple of Fox Sparrows at each stop today.
