Bashakill the last couple of days.

The American Coot along Haven Road has been seen by many this week. We can only hope for the best for it.

The Bashakill has been quite birdy the last few days. Very high counts of a number of species have been occurring. Birds that have been abundant are as follows with the high counts I’ve had of each species. Green-winged Teal 60, Yellow-rumped Warbler 70, RUSTY BLACKBIRDS 200+ !, American Pipits 80. Other birds of interest have been an ongoing American Coot that seems to be injured. Its right wing droops and it hasn’t left Haven Road all week. Warblers in general have been fairly numerous. Magnolia, Nashville, Palm, Common Yellowthroat, Black-throated Blue and Green and Yellow Warbler have all been seen. Northern Harriers have been plentiful with as many as five being seen in an afternoon. The Great Egrets continue, but were down to two today after a recent high of 19 this past weekend. Good birding!
