Swan Lake

One of four Common Loons on Swan Lake

That Scotty Baldinger was in high gear today! As fast as I could get one location birded, he was calling with more great birds at another spot. This time it was Swan Lake. Another nice fallout there. Upon my arrival I found Horned Grebe, Long-tailed Duck, Common Loon, Blue and Green-winged Teal, Common and Hooded Mergansers, a beautifully breeding plumage Ruddy Duck and lots of the more common waterfowl species. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to relocate the Red-necked Grebe that Scott had found when he got there earlier. Still quite a bounty! Thanks again Scott!!!
