A female Orchard Oriole found and photographed by Karen Miller on McDonald Road.

Karen Miller has become an integral part of our birding community here in Sullivan County. She has recently been adding some good records to our annual lists. On Sunday 7/12, Karen found a family of Orchard Orioles on McDonald Road. The pair had been seen previously, but not in a while. It isn’t often we get to confirm that a pair has successfully bred, but Karen did just that. She found the adult pair and two offspring bathing in a puddle on the side of the road near the warehouse. This is a great record! Thanks Karen for all your efforts in helping us keep up with finding good birds!
