This morning, Lance Verderame and I traveled to Westchester County to try to find the Black-headed Gull for Lance. It would have been a lifer for him. Following pretty consistent behavior over the last 9 days, the gull was not seen this morning. We had many gulls, A Common Loon, Bufflehead, Greater Scaup, Red-breasted Mergansers, Brant, Canada Geese and many Gadwall. The gull never showed by the time we left at 11:00 am. Hopefully it is just altering its behavior a bit and will show up again. On our way by, we stopped at Hommock Conservation Park, where we easily found the adult EURASIAN WIGEON.
