This morning I birded what we used to refer to as Estero Lagoon with the Caloosa Bird Club and Vince McGrath. We had a great morning, highlights of which included Magnificent Frigatebird, Snowy, Wilson’s, Piping, Semi-palmated and Black-bellied Plovers, gulls, terns and shorebirds. The highlight for me however was when a single AMERICAN AVOCET flew in and began feeding in the lagoon near the pier. Nice morning, and thanks Vince for inviting me along.
