Sullivan County Storm Fallout

Red-throated Loons on the Neversink Reservoir

Red-throated Loons on the Neversink Reservoir

While this was not a typical set up of storm patterns that give us good fallouts, the system did provide some good birds. I birded most of the major lakes and reservoirs this morning and was pleased with what I found. The Neversink Reservoir was the most productive. Here is a list of the birds seen. I’ve combined all the locations for the totals.

Ring-necked Ducks – 11
RED-THROATED LOON -2
Common Loon – 11
Double-crested Cormorant – 4
Ring-billed Gull – 4
BONAPARTE’S GULL – 2
COMMON TERN – 1
