Thanks to Matt Zeitler’s determination, and his having the birds schedule down to a science, I was able to finally get to see them on my third try. I met Matt on Missionland Road about an hour before their scheduled arrival. I searched many nearby areas as I had twice previously this week. I decided to ride over to Oil City Road to check for shore birds there when Matt called to say at 5:25 to say they had just flown in. We had prolonged looks at the four buffies. I managed to get a couple of distant shots of the birds. Thanks Matt for sticking with these guys! I recommend that if you would like to see them, be there at 5:30 the next few days as Matt has pointed out. Winds are not going to be favorable for migrating and I think they may stick around. Good luck.
