A good day of birding overall. Morningside Park had Least Sandpipers, Pectoral Sandpiper, Killdeer, Green-winged Teal, Belted Kingfisher, American Pipit, Double-crested Cormorant, Great Blue Heron and more. The Hawk watch was better today with good numbers of some species. Osprey 10, Bald Eagles 11, American Kestrel 9, Broad-winged Hawks 44, Peregrine Falcon 1, Sharp-shinned Hawk 25, Cooper’s Hawk 2, Red-shouldered Hawk 1, Northern Harrier 1. Not a bad day.

  1. John – I was wondering what other shorebirds you might expect (or hope for) at Morningside Park this fall?
