Scott Baldinger, Maha Katnani, Aimee LaBarr, Liz Jamison and I birded the Nature Trail this morning. There were significant changes overnight. The intense north west winds brought many new birds and took out many birds seen yesterday. Warbler numbers were down somewhat, but diversity was good and we had a four Vireo Morning. Highlights of the day were (1)PHILADELPHIA VIREO, (2)Great Crested Flycatcher, (2)Yellow-bellied Flycatcher,(1)Tennessee Warbler, (1)Wilson’s Warbler, (1)Blue-winged Warbler, Scarlet Tanager and Baltimore Oriole. We had a total of 40 species, including 11 wood warblers. We had no Grosbeaks nor Cuckoos today.
