Still looking for a Buff-breasted Sandpiper (no luck) I headed back to the black dirt region this morning. It was somewhat quieter than yesterday, but there were still quite a few birds around. Highlights included 20 AMERICAN GOLDEN-PLOVER at the Pine Island Turf Nursery and a BAIRD’S SANDPIPER on Skinner Lane. I had several Northern Harriers and a Cooper’s Hawk, but no Peregrine Falcons today. Other shore birds included Greater and Lesser Yellowlegs, Least Sandpiper, Pectoral Sandpiper and Killdeer.
