Sullivan County Break-a-hundred Results

The results are in. The team lead by Kathy Scullion took first place with 115 species. Congratulations! Here are the results for the other five teams:

Scott Baldinger’s Team – 2nd place 113 species
John Haas’s Team – 3rd place 111 species
Renee Davis’s Team -4th place 107 species
Valerie Freer’s Team – 5th place 94 species
Ruth McKeon’s Team – 6th place 87 species

The weekend had many extremes – temperatures from 40 – 80 degrees, Calm to windy, and dry to downpours. All had fun and were able to find some nice birds. Species of note included: Pine Siskins in large flocks in many areas. Common Loons numbered near 30. Our first ever Red-throated Loon on the Break was seen. Numbers of birds were low, both individuals and species. Congratulations to all participants.
