Today, 12/15/12, I joined Bill and Jayne Fiero to cover their sector of the Eastern Orange Christmas Count. This was my fifth year accompanying them. We had a good day tallying 40 species. Highlights included: a single Snow Goose, Yellow-bellied Sapsucker, Winter Wren and a NORTHERN SHRIKE (found by Bill….good spotting). The last two were the first in our sector on a Christmas Count. It was a beautiful day with good company for some great birding.
