Common Redpoll in the Deli Fields at the Bashakill 12/4/12

This morning I birded the Bashakill. The Deli fields were once again the hot spot. Tremendous numbers of House Finches (100+) Dark-eyed Juncos (100+) and Tree Sparrows (75) were seen. Other birds in lower numbers included White-throated Sparrow, American Goldfinch, Carolina Wren, Blue Jays, Chickadees, Cardinals, Purple Finch, Titmouse and Song Sparrows. Two Common Redpolls were feeding in the Birch trees. I called Arlene Borko and Scott Baldinger who both came over. At first we could not relocate the Redpolls. Scott had to leave shortly there after, but soon the two Redpolls flew into a tree quite close to us and Arlene had great looks from about twenty feet. Hopefully more of these birds will show up and become easier to find.
