Odds and Ends

Snow Bunting on Haven Road 11/8/12

This week was somewhat lackluster compared to the last couple of weeks. There were still some good birds. Scott Baldinger continues to get the occasional Evening Grobseak at his feeders even though the Pine Siskin invasion has waned somewhat. A Snow Bunting was found by Jim Carney on Haven Road today. As I viewed it, an American Pipit flew overhead. Ducks continue to come through with Brant, Long-tailed Duck, Ring-necked and Ruddy Ducks dominating this week. The Hawk Watch has diminished since a great day last week that produced 381 raptores in one day, including three Northern Goshawks. Hopefully it won’t be long before we get our next wave of winter finches coming through.
