Good birding continues

This morning I met John Mueger at the Bashakill. We had some good birds at the Orchard/Stop Sign Trail. Highlights included 11 species of warbler, a Tennessee the best. Two Philadelphia Vireos gave great views. John and I then went to Hawk Watch. Winds were light out of the north and were not as productive as the last two days. Oddly enough, a mixed species flock of passerines in the pines around the tower were the highlight there. Another Philadelphia Vireo and our FOS CAPE MAY WARBLER put on a nice show. Three Red-breasted Nuthatches passed through as well. After four hours of hawk watching which only produce 30 birds today, John and I left. I headed back to the Bash to check out the Nature Trail. There I ran into Liz Jamison and we found two more Philadelphia Vireos. Five in one day is a record for me. All in all a great day with some really special birds.
