Sullivan – up county

Today I spent most of my time up county in hopes of increased shore bird activity and possible finch activity. I stopped at Apollo Plaza where I had quite a few shore birds. Kiamesha Lake had nothing. Morningside Park had a few shore birds. Neversink had nothing. Roundout Reservoir had some ducks and killdeer. No finches anywhere. Here are the birds of note by site:

Apollo Plaza:
Least Sandpiper – 36
Killdeer – 13
Solitary Sandpiper – 2
Semipalmated Plover – 1

Morningside Park:
Least Sandpiper – 11
Spotted Sandpiper – 4
Solitary Sandpiper – 1
Killdeer – 5
Belted Kingfisher – 2

SCCC:
Killdeer – 47
Cooper’s Hawk – 1

Neversink Reservoir
American Kestrel – 1

Rondout Reservoir:
Double-crested Cormorant – 1
